Baptism

Christian baptism illustrates the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Being submerged in the water represents death to sin, and emerging from the water represents the cleansed, holy life that follows salvation. At GBC, we believe that Baptism is an outward testimony of the inward change in a believer's life. Christian baptism is an act of obedience to the Lord after salvation. Although baptism is closely associated with salvation, it is not a requirement for salvation. It is good for a new believer in Jesus Christ to be baptised as soon as possible.

Membership

We read in the New Testament that believers were called to clearly identify themselves and were challenged to become committed members of the church.

Romans 12:4-5 "For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another."

Church membership affirms your desire to be an integral and influential part of the GBC family. Formal membership is also valuable for the church leadership as they seek to carry out their God-given task of caring for the church.

Church membership is not a requirement to participate in our ministries or to attend our services.

Serving in Ministry

Ministries are a way that we as a church can show God's love and serve the Gladstone community and are a great way for you to be connected with fellow believers.

If you would like to help Serve in a Ministry please talk to one of our Pastoral Team, Ministry Leader, or the Church Office.
