Highlights from the August GBC Board Meeting
- Pastor Stewart tabled a report outlining the outcomes of his recent trip to Vanuatu to hand over water project materials
- The board noted that correspondence to the board must come through the Secretary and that individual board members cannot speak on behalf of the Board
- Heard a progress report on the relocation of the church Library: Relocating will commence once gyprock and painting are completed and new carpets are laid.
- The board decided to review pastoral wages in light of increases in the cost of living in Gladstone
- Options were to be sought for accommodation for Scott and Deb should rents rise beyond reasonable levels
- It was agreed that Pastor Michael’s title be changed to Associate Pastor from 2012 to reflect his increasing ministry involvement across the church
- The board agreed to a proposal by Squeals on Wheels to seek grant money to fund a new play ground for their play groups
- The board considered and adopted MAG proposals:
- That YWAM no longer being considered an approved mission agency
- That the list of recipients for undesignated funds be approved
- A sub-committee of board members would visit some of the local schools to view their new recreation sheds to investigate what might be an appropriate structure to accommodate our growing needs
